You're damn right Clay Guida is going to slap his brother again at FURY Professional Grappling 5: 'I think he deserves that'

UFC Hall of Famer Clay Guida is excited about his rescheduled matchup with fellow UFC star "Bruce Leeroy," Alex Caceres, but there's another moment at Saturday's FURY Professional Grappling 5 event that he's also looking forward to just as much.

You see, Guida's UFC walkouts have become a thing of legend in the martial arts community because of his high-energy approach to entering the arena, and also the way they end – with older his brother, Jason Guida, giving him a series of slaps in the face.

In May, Clay got to return the favor when Jason joined him on the FURY Professional Grappling 4 card, and "The Carpenter" said he is absolutely going to repeat the moment with both brothers again booked for Saturday's FURY Professional Grappling 5 event at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena, which streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS as part of a two-night weekend for the promotion.

"Dang right, man," Clay said with a laugh. "I think he deserves it. He's got one coming, man, for all those years he gets to crack me beforehand. I can't wait. That's something that's a highlight for me, too."

Guida and Caceres were first set to meet in May, but "Bruce Leeroy" was forced to pull out on the day of the event. That's when CFFC president and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Brad Boulton made the unprecedented offer of taking the contest on a few hours' notice despite his lack of training during the past few years' tricky pandemic times. Guida accepted and would eventually submit Boulton seven minutes into the matchup, but not before finding himself matched with a worthy opponent.

"Talk about a very tricky, legit black belt – especially coming in pretty much off of the couch and trying to help save part of the main card," Guida said. "It shows a lot about Brad and about his promotion – and his character. He didn't have to do that, you know? So it was very respectful, and he was tricky."

Guida also previously appeared at FURY Professional Grappling 3 against UFC featherweight Billy Quarantillo and was excited to return to the promotion for Saturday's event against any suitable opponent. As it turned out, Caceres was available, and so the match was booked again.

"We were going to compete against whoever, but I'm really glad that Alex is OK," Guida said. "It sounds like he was injured there for a little bit, so we're glad that he's all right and able to compete."

It was a highly anticipated matchup the first time around, and fans are certainly excited to see it put back together for the main event of FURY Professional Grappling 5. But make sure you tune in a little earlier in the night, as well, with the Guida brothers providing their own special brand of excitement.

"Any chance we get to compete in wrestling or grappling or combined – and to be able to have such a great event and an awesome card like FURY Grappling and be with an organization like that – it's a blast," Guida said. "To be able to compete on the same events as my brother, 'Big J,' I mean, it's a no-brainer, dude.

"We're pretty pumped to be back there in the City of Brotherly Love and put on a show, man."
