Ahmad Alatmah promises 'beautiful violence' at CFFC Muay Thai 2

"The Chosen One" returns for his second promotional appearance at Saturday's event in Philadelphia.

Ahmad Alatmah will be making his second appearance for CFFC Muay Thai at Saturday's event at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena, and he's hoping to make it something special. He was victorious in January at the organization's inaugural show and said he is grateful that CFFC brought him back for CFFC Muay Thai 2.

"It means a lot," Alatmah said. "I really appreciate the promoter for putting me on, and I appreciate Eddy (Torres) for putting me on the show. I always love to fight in Philly. We don't have muay Thai shows in Philly. Not a lot that happens, so me able to fight in my hometown, yeah, it just feels amazing – and especially under the CFFC name, it's really amazing."

Coming into Saturday's contest against Landon "The Ghostface Killa" Jones, "The Chosen One" says he's hoping to send a message with his performance. Alatmah wants to make it clear to everyone that he is the better fighter as he aims to work himself to the very pinnacle of the sport.

"For this fight, I have a lot of things to prove – for everybody – that I belong at the top," Alatmah said.

While every muay Thai bout is certainly a physical test, Alatmah focuses his training greatly on the mental side of the game, as well. He credits his head coach, Rami Ibrahim, for preparing him for all outcomes and scenarios.

"My coach prepared me mentally so that it's hard to break me," Alatmah said. "I never broke before, and he prepares me to be ready for anything that comes at me, you know, because the fight game, anything can happen. You can get cut in the first round and boom, you're bleeding. Now you've got to fight through all five rounds. You might get hurt in the first round. You never know, so you've got to be prepared – and, you know, for you to be prepared, you have to do it in the gym before it can apply to the fight."

That attitude is one Alatmah carries with him at all times. His motto is simple: Life continues, and to keep going no matter what.

"Get dropped, get stopped – the sun goes up the next morning and life continues," Alatmah explained. "The same thing happens if you stop the person. The same thing, you know? The sun goes up and life continues. You have to keep going no matter what."

Holding that mentality allows Alatmah to compete with total freedom, understanding the focus should be more on the performance than worrying about the result. That said, Alatmah wants to show his skills every time he steps in the ring, but he is especially driven to put on an exceptional fight for his hometown crowd.

"I want to surprise you guys with good performance and good muay Thai and beautiful violence," Altamah said.

Alatmah holds two previous victories against his opponent when they were amateurs. However, he knows that's no guarantee of success this time around. Still, he feels primed to repeat the performance now that the two are on the professional level.

"I beat him before, in the nationals, when we were amateurs, but coming to the pros is different, you know because amateurs and pros are two different worlds," Alatmah said. "You can't afford to mess up here."

His biggest inspiration in his professional fighting career is his coach, Ibrahim, who Alatmah says has inspired him not only as a fighter, but as a person, too.

"I want to be like my coach," Alatmah said. "He's a legend. He fought over 180 fights professional muay Thai, and he has a successful career and a successful life, and I want to be just like that – and he is helping me do that, so I look up to him as a fighter, too, and as a person in life.:"

With leadership like that in and out of the ring, Alatmah believes there is no limit to what he can accomplish. Taking advantage of opportunities and mistakes from his opponents is where he wins fights, and he's always looking for moments of weakness from the opposition. He says CFFC Muay Thai 2 will be no different.

"I counter your mistakes," Alatmah said. "The moment you mess up, you're going to pay for it."
