Landon Jones had no hesitation taking CFFC Muay Thai 2 rematch: 'Anywhere, anyone, anytime, anyplace'

"The Ghostface Killa" will seek revenge on enemy soil at Saturday's event in Philadelphia.

Landon "The Ghostface Killa" Jones is thrilled to compete at Saturday's CFFC Muay Thai 2, taking part in an event he believes can help continue to grow the popularity of the striking art in the U.S.

"It means a lot," Jones said. "I'm a big believer in being a part of something that's kind of like on the rise, and CFFC of course has been in the MMA game for a good while now, and now that they're doing muay Thai, I think it's great. I think it's bringing a lot of attention to the sport, so I'm very, very happy to be a part of something that's on the rise and growing."

Jones is no stranger to the opponent he was given for the card, Ahmad Alatmah. The two faced off years ago in an amateur national championship. Even though Jones wasn't victorious then, he is confident in his chances to win this time out.

“A lot has changed," Jones said. "I've fought a lot of great people. He's fought a lot of great people, so now it's time to step up, you know – no pads, no headgear, no shin guards. Pro muay Thai you know, we're both very young in our career, and we're just going to go out there and put on a show."

Jones and Alatmah meet in a featured 132-pound matchup at Saturday's CFFC Muay Thai 2 event, which streams live on OnlyFans from Philadelphia's 2300 Arena. While some fighters might have hesitated at matching up with a familiar opponent, Jones said he's always looking to compete, no matter the circumstances. He believes that is a responsibility owed to those that have supported him in his journey thus far.

"I mean, that's my biggest inspiration – and of course, you know, I'm inspired by the people I'm surrounding myself with," Jones said. "I surround myself with good, hardworking fighters and my trainer, my coach, of course – so I'm inspired, of course, by that – but ultimately, what inspires me is just my willingness to fight anywhere, anyone, anytime, anyplace."

Jones has the added challenge of traveling to Alatmah's backyard for the contest, so he'll certainly be playing the villain role when he enters the ring. That said, Jones thinks his performance can win over some of the Philly crowd.

"Beautiful violence, plain and simple," Jones said. "Beautiful violence, pressure, domination – that's what I'm all about. I'm never on the back foot, and it's just going forward, you know? Going forward. If you want to win, you've got to kill me. That's what I'm all about, so just being forward, 100 percent."

Jones said he often uses visualization in his training routine so that he can be the most calm and collected version of himself possible, despite any outside circumstances. He credits his coach for the method.

"He says a lot of great stuff," Jones said. "I think with us, it's just about visualization. You know, he's been telling me, 'I want you to visualize yourself in the back warming up, ring entrance, music plays, walking down the ramp, going in there and taking what's yours,' so it's visualization."

Jones, who is from Suffolk, Virginia said he's actually looking forward to competing in Philadelphia. He sees a lot of similarities between Virginia and Philadelphia and the theme of love.

"I like the environment, so I think it means a lot – you know, the 'City of Brotherly Love' and, you know, like Virginia, they say Virginia is for lovers," Jones said. "I'm all about the love, and I don't care. You know, I'm fighting their hometown guy. If they all boo for me, I don't care. I still love you."

So Jones may enter hostile territory on Saturday, but truthfully, he wouldn't have it any other way. He's got his eyes on reaching the very pinnacle of the sport, and he knows he's got to deliver for those who have helped him reach this point.

"I can't do this by myself," Jones said. "You guys train with me, hold pads for me. Come and watch my fight, whether in person or watch the stream. I just want to say thank you, and I love you guys very, very deeply. You guys aren't our fans, you're our family. That's the biggest thing."
