PHILADELPHIA — March 1, 2018 — Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC), one of the industry’s leading developmental MMA organizations, announced today that tickets for its championship event tomorrow night at the XCite Center at Parx Casino in Philadelphia, Pa. are sold out.
CFFC has now sold out two of its last three cards, with its last card on Feb. 16 generating one of the largest gates in organizational history. With this news, CFFC and Parx Casino also confirmed today that CFFC will return to XCite Center on Friday, June 14 with an action-packed card set to air live on UFC FIGHT PASS.
CFFC’s inaugural card at Parx Casino features heavyweight champion and Bucks County’s own Zu Anyanwu (14-5) defending his title against the dangerous Chris Daukaus (7-2), who is on a five-fight win streak with 4 KOs. Daukaus looks to join his brother, Kyle, who defeated Jonavin Webb for the organization’s middleweight title last month, as a CFFC champion.
“Philadelphia has always been a passionate fight town and the fans here have demonstrated it once again with their support of our debut event at Parx Casino,” said Rob Haydak, President of CFFC. “In a city that has produced some incredible champions, we’re excited to watch two Philadelphia-area heavyweights collide for the CFFC heavyweight title. I want to thank Parx Casino, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission, our CFFC partners, the athletes on this card, and our great fans for making this event a huge success. We are thrilled to have Parx Casino as the Philadelphia home of CFFC.”
Fans who attend CFFC 73 tomorrow night are encouraged to join CFFC athletes and staff at The Beer Garden at Parx Casino immediately following the card for the official UFC 235 viewing party. The UFC’s Pay-Per-View event is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and former CFFC middleweight champion Anthony Smith. Fans must be 21 or older to attend.
“We are very excited to have our first MMA event here at Parx, at the Xcite Center, be a sold out event. We are looking forward to a fantastic crowd and fight card that CFFC has put together,” Helmut Perzi, Director of Entertainment for Parx Casino, said.
