ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) is returning to Philadelphia's historic 2300 Arena for the promotion's next series of back-to-back blockbuster events and two cards full of athletes looking to make their way to MMA's biggest stage. With reigning CFFC champion Jared Scoggins recently signing with Bellator MMA, his now-vacant title will be on the line for the contenders hoping to follow in his footsteps.

CFFC 86 takes place Oct. 29 and features reigning CFFC featherweight champion James Gonzalez (6-3) taking aim at the vacant bantamweight belt in the night's main event when he meets fast-rising Texas prospect Levi Mowles (13-4).

Meanwhile, CFFC 87 takes place Oct. 30, the night's main event sees CFFC flyweight champion Santo Curatolo (5-0) seeking his first title defense when he takes on Alliance MMA product Albert Trujillo (4-1).

“We're truly excited to continue our run of back-to-back nights of elite MMA action, and 2300 Arena provides an incredible venue for us to showcase the next stars of the sport,” CFFC President Rob Haydak said. “We were happy to see Jared and our heavyweight champion Shawn Teed get a deal with one of the sport's biggest promotions, and now we're looking to find the next athletes that are ready to compete at MMA's highest level and fill their shoes.”

Former WWE champion and two-time UFC veteran CM Punk calls both nights of fights along with MMA Junkie’s John Morgan for UFC FIGHT PASS.

CFFC featherweight titleholder Gonzalez claimed his title in February with a stunning finish of highly respected prospect Pat Sabatini. He now makes the move down to 135 pounds in search of "champ champ" status. Standing in his way is 25-year-old finisher Mowles, who is currently 7-1 in his past eight appearances, with six of those victories earned inside the distance.

The following night, the undefeated Curatolo, who has yet to fight outside of the first round in five professional appearances, puts his flyweight belt on the line against aggressive grappling ace Trujillo in the CFFC 87 headliner.

More bouts will be announced shortly.
