Three championship bouts headline first of four 2020 CFFC events at iconic venue

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Following a sold-out start to the promotion’s 2020 event calendar, Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) returns to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on Saturday, March 21, for the first of four events planned for the legendary Boardwalk venue in the upcoming year.

Three championship bouts headline the CFFC 82 bill, which kicks off at 6 p.m. ET. The night’s main card streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS at 8:30 p.m. ET.

“Our new year began with a fantastic event and sold-out crowd in Pennsylvania, and now we return to our home base of New Jersey for CFFC 82 and an absolutely loaded fight card,” CFFC President Rob Haydak said. “Our title fights will certainly be the spotlight of the evening, but any time we’re at the amazing Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, you can count on us bringing a full roster loaded with the next wave of mixed martial arts superstars.”

Tickets for CFFC 82, which start at just $55, are currently on sale at CFFC.tv/tickets.

In the night’s main event, CFFC lightweight champion Nikolas “Iron” Motta (11-3) returns to action for the first time since earning the title at this past November’s CFFC 79. That followed the hard-hitting Brazilian’s promotional debut, in which he scored a “Knockout of the Year” finish of former interim titleholder Cesar Balmaceda.

Motta’s opponent will be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, the night’s co-feature sees a rematch more than four years in the making, with CFFC heavyweight champion Shawn “The Norwegian Nightmare” Teed (6-2-1) taking on six-time CFFC veteran Chris Daukaus (8-3).

Teed made his professional debut in December 2015 with a second-round submission win over Daukaus, brother of undefeated CFFC middleweight champion Kyle Daukaus. However, the elder sibling has since gone 6-1 in seven appearances, with five of the victories by way of stoppage, and now challenges for the title Teed claimed in November.

Rounding out the trio of title fights, undefeated prospect Santo Curatolo (4-0) faces Canadian import James “Boom Boom” Mancini (6-4) with the vacant CFFC flyweight belt on the line. Multiple-time champion Sean Santella recently vacated CFFC’s 125-pound title, and now two new names face off as they seek a path to the sport’s biggest promotions.

Stay tuned to CFFC.tv for future announcements regarding CFFC 82.
