Tickets on sale now for CFFC 105, which features the return of middleweight champ Aaron Jeffrey
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) launches the promotion's 2022 campaign on Jan. 29 at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena, with "CFFC 105: Jeffrey vs. Harris." In the night's main event, reigning middleweight champion Aaron Jeffery (10-3) of Canada puts his belt on the line against Pennsylvania's own Rex "T-Rex" Harris (12-5).
Additionally, featherweight submission ace Jose Perez (5-1) takes on undefeated prospect and Dana White's Contender Series signee Paul Capaldo (6-0) in a thrilling co-main event, and CFFC vets Joe Tizzano (3-1) and Taylor "Surtees" Pierce (2-1) clash in another key matchup at 145 pounds.
Tickets are on sale now at CFFC.tv. The event streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS.
"We had a record-breaking year in 2021, and we're absolutely thrilled to be starting our 2022 schedule back in Philadelphia with our incredible partners at 2300 Arena," CFFC President Rob Haydak said. "Aaron Jeffery faced an incredibly talented opponent at Dana White's Contender Series, and now he's back in the CFFC cage to defend his title and hopefully earn an invitation to the UFC, but he's facing a dangerous opponent in Rex Harris, who will certainly be a crowd favorite.
"Meanwhile, we've got two fantastic matchups at 145 pounds with fighters who are looking to prove they're worthy of competing on the sport's highest stage, and they'll have a chance to prove it at CFFC 105."
Jeffery claimed his title with a March win over fellow Dana White's Contender Series veteran Collin Huckbody and now seeks the first defense of his title. The 29-year-old Niagara Top Team fighter is currently pegged as the No. 5-ranked middleweight prospect in the United States according to respected rankings outlet Tapology.com. Meanwhile, Harris returns to the CFFC cage for the first time since 2012 following successful stints in the PFL and World Series of Fighting and looks to take a major step forward in his career by claiming the CFFC middleweight belt.
Other fighters expected to appear on the card include undefeated Brazilian lightweight Manoel "Manumito" Sousa (7-0), gritty featherweight James "Lyonheart" Lyons (2-1), six-time CFFC veteran BJ "RicanRebel" Young (4-3) and Dante Rivera BJJ prospect Efren Escareno (3-1), among others.
Current AEW wrestling superstar and two-time UFC veteran CM Punk calls the action at CFFC 105 alongside MMA Junkie lead staff reporter John Morgan on UFC FIGHT PASS.
