CFFC 119 Official Results: Gregg Ellis claims Title Win in his Hometown

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino played host to CFFC 119 in front of a sold out crowd in Tampa Thursday night. The card did not disappoint and was filled with highlight finishes from the prelims to the main card.

The main event of the evening featured Donovan Beard (7-3) putting his middleweight title on the line against Florida native Gregg Ellis (8-4). Ellis, even after suffering a broken hand in the first round, came away with his hand raised and the gold around his waist. Ellis used his strong wrestling to help him come away with the unanimous decision in the title fight. After suffering four straight defeats, Ellis has now rattled off four straight victories on his way to the belt.

Who said flyweights don’t have power? On the main card of CFFC 119 on UFC FIGHT PASS, Shamel Findley (6-1-1) delivered a vicious knockout that had the crowd jumping out of their seats. With under a minute to go in the first round Findley delivered a violent straight right hand that sent William Spann (2-2)  to the canvas for the knockout win. After a loss in his pro debut, Findley has now won six of his last seven fights, with one fight being a draw. With highlight performances such as the one at CFFC 119, Findley could quickly see himself jumping the ranks onto the big stage.

The prelims of Thursday's action also delivered another highlight knockout. Rising flyweight prospect Max Quinones (3-0) did his best Jorge Masvidal impersonation in the Sunshine State, delivering a picture-perfect flying knee for the knockout win over Alvin Welch (1-1). The knockout set the stage for what was to come the rest of the night.
