'CFFC 120: Ndregjoni vs. Araujo' official weigh-in results: Champ drops belt at scale, but main event cleared
Bantamweight titleholder Vilson Ndregjoni was over the official limit for Friday's headliner and is not eligible to retain his title
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – All 24 fighters hit the scales today for the official weigh-ins for Friday's CFFC 120 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, and all but two fighters were able to make weight without issue. Unfortunately, one of those athletes was involved in the night's main event.
While CFFC championship bouts are contested with a one-pound allowance for its athletes, reigning bantamweight champion Vilson Ndregjoni (7-3) could only make it to 136.8 pounds and was stripped of his title. Friday night's main event is still on, but only Wendel Araujo (7-3), who weighed in at 136 pounds, can win the title now. If Ndregjoni ends up winning, then the bantamweight belt will become vacant.
On the night's preliminary card, a bantamweight matchup between Chris Kwiatkowski (2-0) and Christian McAuley (2-0) is still on, as well, despite Kwiatkowski weighing in 1.2 pounds over the 136-pound limit.
CFFC 120 prelims will begin at 7 p.m. ET on OnlyFans, with the main card following at 9 p.m. ET on UFC FIGHT PASS.
