CFFC 120 results: Vilson Ndregjoni claims a major victory in his pursuit of the UFC
Kyle Daukaus also returns to promotion with a submission victory at Friday's event in Atlantic City
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cage Fury Fighting Championships returned to the historic Boardwalk on Friday to celebrate a special night with one of the best cards in the history of the promotion. On the night that reigning UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling was inducted into the CFFC Hall of Fame, it was only right that the 12-fight card was stacked with talent.
After missing weight by 0.8 pounds at Thursday's official weigh-ins, Vilson Ndregjoni (8-3) was stripped of his bantamweight title, but that did not stop him from fulfilling his mission in the main event of the evening. After rocking Wendel Araujo (7-4) in the first round, Ndregjoni came back in the second round and delivered a vicious short right hook that finished the job and gave him the knockout victory. The CFFC bantamweight belt is now vacated, but if he hears no call from the UFC, one can only imagine Ndregjoni will be back fighting for the belt again soon.
The co-main event of the evening featured the return of a familiar face. Former CFFC middleweight champion Kyle Daukaus (12-4) returned to the promotion to take on veteran Robert Gidron (7-8). Daukaus was able to make Gidron tap with 1 second left in the first round to secure the victory in front of his fans. If Daukaus were to fight again in the CFFC, a shot at reclaiming a belt that was once his is on the table.
In front of a sold-out crowd at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on a very memorable night, CFFC 120 delivered for fight fans all around the world.
