CFFC 139 weigh-in results: Champ Bilal Hasan, challenger Brian Hauser cleared for flyweight title fight
Four fighters miss weight on preliminary card, but Saturday's 13-bout lineup will go on as scheduled.
PHILADELPHIA – Reigning Cage Fury Fighting Championships flyweight titleholer Bilal Hasan and challenger Brian Hauser made their CFFC 139 headliner official on Friday night, each weighing 125.4 pounds for their main event matchup.
Friday’s weigh-ins took place at 2300 Arena, the same venue that host Saturday’s fight card.
Athletes are able to utilize a one-pound allowance in CFFC title fights, so both men were comfortably under the flyweight limit. Hasan (5-0 MMA, 5-0 CFFC) seeks the first defense of his title, while Hauser (3-1 MMA, 0-0 CFFC) looks to claim CFFC gold in his promotional debut.
All six main card contests were cleared without issue. The same could not be said for the evening's preliminary lineup, where four fighters failed to make weight. However, all four contest were cleared, including a women's bantamweight matchup between Becca Evans (3-0) and Maya Stewart (2-2), flyweights Nick Gebhard (0-2) vs. Justice Harris (0-3), middleweights Jordan Baskerville (Pro debut) vs. Elijah Sampson (Pro debut), and a contest for the vacant NextGen flyweight title between Jason Gomez (2-0) vs. Michael McCaffrey (5-2).
