CFFC 149 results: Champs Ryan Cafaro, Bilal Hasan and Emily Martins retain belts with emphatic finishes
Five of six main-card matchups end in first-round highlights to close out Saturday's sold-out event in Atlantic City.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The biggest event in CFFC history saw a trio of champions deliver spectacular finishes, as Ryan Cafaro, Bilal Hasan and Emily Martins all retained their belts with impressive wins.
The three title fights closed out the card at Saturday's CFFC 149 event, which streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
The main event featured the heavily anticipated rematch between Cafaro (14-6 MMA, 9-2 CFFC) and Justin Patton (9-5 MMA, 1-1 CFFC) after their initial meeting was stopped short due to an inadvertent eye poke just as the action was starting to heat up. The sequel proved the first meeting was no fluke, as the two stood toe-to-toe and traded shots on the feet in a fast-paced opening round.
With time winding down in the first frame, a perfectly timed left hand dropped Patton, nearly putting him out. With the final seconds of the period ticking off the clock, Cafaro swarmed with punches and earned the TKO finish to retain his title.
Following the spectacular victory, the 36-year-old Cafaro called for his shot at the UFC, vowing to fight like a man much younger, and even suggested a matchup with undefeated 28-year-old prospect Tommy "Gun" McMillen.
"Three wins this year, two knockouts, a win against an undefeated guy for the title – forget my age, dawg, I'm here to fight," Cafaro said. "Send me to the UFC, baby. Give me somebody dangerous. Give me that Tommy 'Gun' kid from "Suga" Sean O'Malley's camp.
"Give me someone that you want to build a name off me, and I will thoroughly disappoint you."
