CFFC 146 official weigh-in results: Jesse Roberts makes weight for title defense, challenger Angel Alvarez falls painfully short

Lightweight champion can still retain title, while Alvarez will be looking for bragging rights Friday on UFC FIGHT PASS

NEW TOWN, North Dakota – Only one man will have a chance to walk away with the lightweight title at Friday's "CFFC 146: Roberts vs. Alvarez" event, and that's reigning champion Jesse Roberts.

The current titleholder did need two trips to the scale at Thursday's official weigh-in ceremony, but he did eventually hit 156 pounds, utlizing the one-pound allowance given in all CFFC title fights. The same could not be said for challenger Angel Alvarez, however, who also needed two trips to the scale but was only able to register 156.2 pounds, leaving him ineligible to win the title at Friday's event, which streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS from 4 Bears Casino & Lodge following prelims that stream live exclusively on OnlyFans.com/cffcmma.

The night's headliner was made official without issue, as Richie Lewis tipped the scales at 155 pounds, while fellow lightweight prospect Benny Orozco registered 154.4 pounds. Lewis (6-1) and Orozco (5-1) each make their CFFC debut in a three-round main event that streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City

A handful of other weight misses did impact the event, as AT McCowin came in heavy at 186.8 pounds for his middleweight matchup with Guram Mestvirishvili, and Jeramy Titsworth registered 178.2 pounds for what was expected to be a catchweight contest at 175 pounds with Lane Coggins.

McCowin and Titsworth were each fined 20 percent of their purses, but the bouts will go on as scheduled.
