Justin Scoggins out at CFFC 150; Champ Sean Mora now meets Sebastian Ruiz at CFFC 151 in Florida
Mora vs. Ruiz now set as co-main event for CFFC's return to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa on Friday, March 13
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – CFFC bantamweight champion Sean Mora will have to wait just a little bit longer for his first attempted title defense, as challenger Justin Scoggins has been forced to withdraw from a planned matchup at CFFC 150.
With that bout scrapped, Mora (7-1 MMA, 1-0 CFFC) will instead put his title on the line at CFFC 151 when he faces the always entertaining Sebastian "El Gallo" Ruiz (7-4 MMA, 1-0 CFFC) in the night's co-main event as the organization returns to Florida's Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa on Friday, March 13.
Additional matchups added to CFFC 151 include a lightweight contest between Ashton Charlton (9-3) and former interim champion Morquez "Black Clover" Forest (7-1), as well as a bantamweight clash between Kenny Agosto (4-2) and Diego "Baki" Aleman (2-2) and a featherweight matchup of Tommy Laipply (2-3) vs. Brayton Young (Pro debut).
Tickets for CFFC 151 are currently on sale at CFFC.tv.
As with all CFFC events, the night's preliminary card streams exclusively at OnlyFans.com/cffcmma, while the main card airs live on UFC FIGHT PASS.
Following the retirement of former champ Joey Ruquet, Mora claimed the vacant bantamweight title this past July with a stunning 66-second knockout of Mark Grey at CFFC 144. The Cuban native and Florida resident now has four consecutive victories, including three stoppages, and is hoping another impressive result could earn him a look from UFC matchmakers.
Meanwhile, Ruiz made his CFFC debut this past March, scoring a decision win over Nodir Alidodov in an absolute barnburner. Since that time, Ruiz also picked up another victory on the regional scene, running his current win streak to five, while also squeezing in a boxing match in the interim.
With the additions to CFFC 151, the night's lineup currently includes:
• Champ Larry Gonzales vs. Tafon Nchukwi – for heavyweight title
• Champ Sean Mora vs. Sebastian Ruiz – for bantamweight title
• Anthony Guarascio vs. Jackson Stanford
• Devon Dixon vs. Blake Smith
• Ashton Charlton vs. Morquez Forest
• Christian Carr vs. Shaun Stant
• Liam Hamill vs. Ron Humphrey
