Take a deep dive into the archives with CFFC Origins, featuring the promotional debuts of some of CFFC's greatest athletes
In the summer of 2011, Aljamain Sterling was a promising young bantamweight prospect who made the decision to take a featherweight matchup on one week's notice in his Cage Fury Fighting Championships debut at CFFC 10.
The risk paid off, with Sterling picking up a first-round TKO win at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It was the first of five straight CFFC wins for Sterling, who would win the organization's bantamweight title and defend it three times before getting the call to the sport's biggest organization, the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Sterling, who went on to the the UFC title, as well, was inducted into the CFFC Hall of Fame in 2023.
