Josh Thomson returns to broadcast team for 'CFFC 155: Cunningham vs. Russell' on June 19
Two championship bouts top the bill, streaming live on UFC FIGHT PASS and OnlyFans from Philadelphia's 2300 Arena
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh "The Punk" Thomson once again returns to the Cage Fury Fighting Championships broadcast team on Friday, June 19, for "CFFC 155: Cunningham vs. Russell."
Thomson, who also fought under the UFC, PRIDE and Bellator MMA banners during his 16-year professional career, joins CFFC General Manager and longtime MMA journalist John Morgan to call the action live on UFC FIGHT PASS and at OnlyFans.com/cffcmma.
Thomson first joined the CFFC team at March's CFFC 152, where Nick Galanti outpointed Austin Clayton to claim the promotion's middleweight title. "The Punk" then returned to the booth for May's historic "CFFC 154: The Thrill on the Hill" event, which took place outdoors at The Union League of Philadelphia's Liberty Hill and saw Kevin Pease submit Will Starks to become the first male fighter in CFFC history to claim titles in two weight classes.
Following the pair's first CFFC event together, Morgan has since become a weekly guest on Thomson's "Weighing In" podcast. The two share a working relationship that dates back nearly 20 years, with Morgan covering much of Thomson's fighting career from cageside.
With former CFFC light heavyweight champion Luke Fernandez joining the UFC late last year after a victory at Dana White's Contender Series, the vacant 205-pound title will be on the line in the CFFC 155 main event when promotional veterans "Big Bad" Jon Cunningham (3-1) and Ian "The Carpenter" Russell (2-0) collide.
Meanwhile, Canadian standout "Big Game" Hunter Lee (6-1 MMA, 1-1 CFFC) and Jeff "Butter" Craig (7-3 MMA, 0-0 CFFC) meet in the co-main event with an interim middleweight title up for grabs.
Limited tickets remain available at CFFC.tv.
