Cade Berardelli puts title on line in main event against undefeated JJ MacDonald, live from the legendary 2300 Arena

PHILADELPHIA – The full 12-bout lineup for Saturday's "CFFC NextGen 4: Berardelli vs. MacDonald" event is cleared, including two championship matchups, after 23 of 24 athletes made weight for the card.

Friday's official weigh-ins took place at the legendary 2300 Arena, the same venue that hosts Friday's event.

In the night's main event, Cade "The Ace of Spades" Berardelli (8-1 MMA, 1-0 CFFC) – the reigning CFFC champion at 182 pounds, which is known as the Super Light Heavyweight division under New Jersey State Athletic Control Board rules – and undefeated challenger JJ MacDonald (5-0 MMA, 1-0 CFFC) each utilized the two-pound allowance given in contests governed by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission.

Berardelli hit the scales first at 183.8 pounds, while MacDonald arrived well past the scheduled time for the weigh-ins and weighed right at 184 pounds. The three-round title fight caps off the CFFC NextGen 4 lineup.

CFFC NextGen interim 175-pound champion Giorgi Barliani (5-0 MMA, 2-0 CFFC) moves down to contend for the organization's vacant 168-pound title against undefeated challenger Jack "The Ripper" Sheehan (6-0 MMA, 1-0 CFFC). Each weighed equally at 169.2 pounds, also utilizing Pennsylvania's two-pound allowance.

The lone issue of the night came in a matchup that was initially slated to take place at bantamweight. Prior to the weigh-ins, New York's Sam Thang (2-1) requested the matchup be moved up to 143 pounds. Opponent Sean Casey (1-3) agreed to the change and came in at 142.4 pounds, only for Thang to then come in at 143.8 pounds.

While allowances are not generally given for catchweight agreements, Casey agreed to keep the contest together despite the miss, and the evening's 12-bout lineup remained intact.

CFFC NextGen 4 will not stream live, but highlights will be posted to the CFFC MMA YouTube channel.
