CFFC BJJ returns to Philadelphia's legendary 2300 Arena on Friday, October 2
Elite submission grapplers chasing UFC BJJ dreams collide at CFFC BJJ 18, streaming live on UFC FIGHT PASS
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) officials are excited to reveal the latest edition of the organization's Brazilian jiu-jitsu and submission grappling showcase is set for Friday, October 2 at Philadelphia's historic 2300 Arena.
On that night, the legendary South Philly venue hosts CFFC BJJ 18, where top athletes will once again seek not only victories, but also the opportunity to prove themselves worthy of a future invitation to UFC BJJ, as well.
That motivation, combined with Cage Fury Fighting Championships' signature blend of fast-paced, high-energy live events and commitment to exceptional production value, makes for an incredibly entertaining evening not to be missed.
As with all CFFC BJJ events, the action streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS.
"We're extremely excited to announce the return of CFFC BJJ, where the stakes have only gotten higher for the athletes as they seek their opportunity to compete at the sport's highest level with UFC BJJ," CFFC CEO Rob Haydak said. "CFFC BJJ 18 will once again be a non-stop night of aggressive action, featuring top emerging prospects, UFC BJJ Opens winners, and proven grapplers all looking to showcase a style that gets them the call."
UFC BJJ exec Claudia Gadelha will be watching the action unfold in hopes of finding additional names to add to the list of CFFC BJJ athletes that have gone on to compete for UFC BJJ that already incudes the likes of Elder Cruz, Kevin Dantzler, Taylor Hishaw, Devhonte Johnson, Danielle Kelly, Max Livingston, Amanda Mazza, Bella Mir and Nicky Rodriguez, among others.
As an additional incentive, all main card winners will earn the right to have their entry fee waived at a UFC BJJ Opens event of their choice, as the "Pathway to UFC BJJ" continues redefining Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament competition.
"CFFC BJJ is an opportunity for athletes to show us their skills and prove that they possess the exciting, action-packed style that we want to see at the highest level in UFC BJJ," Gadelha said.
The CFFC BJJ 18 main event sees reigning CFFC BJJ lightweight champion Keith Krikorian put his title on the line against Pedigo Submission Fighting's CJ Murdock.
Featured matchups already confirmed for the event include Vanguard Academy of Jiu-Jitsu founder and Matt Serra black belt Nick Ronan vs. CFFC BJJ 17 standout Brandon Smith, as well as teenage prodigy Joslyn "Baby Shark" Molina vs. Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and coach Sara Vasquez.
Additional contests confirmed for CFFC BJJ 18 include James Lledo vs. Aldo Beqiraj, Cade Berardelli vs. Jack McCaffrey, Mike Bonaccorsi vs. Jonathan Lopez, Christian Hagans vs. Blaise Arnold and Jojo Gaffin vs. Emily Keck.
