CFFC 69 Full Fight Card Announced!
CAGE FURY RETURNS TO BORGATA ON DECEMBER 16
In October we saw Cage Fury kings Sean Brady & Joe Lowry defend their crowns, Maki Pitolo made a statement, Hafez and Wells battled to a bitter stalemate and Tony Gravely proved he's scared of no man on this planet. How could we top the fight card for last month's CFFC 68? Read below for the official announcement of the bouts scheduled for CFFC 69 on December 16 and find out!
BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
Ricky Bandejas (IC) vs. NICK MAMALIS
Ricky Bandejas earned his title with a beautiful TKO win at CFFC 66 over highly touted Giorgi Kudukhashvili - attacking the Georgian-born athlete until he could not answer the bell for the second round. With a spectacular 9-1 record Bandejas has clawed his way to the top of one of Cage Fury's most competitive divisions. He puts his belt on the line for the first time against Bellator veteran Nick Mamalis.
FLYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
Sean Santella (IC) vs Kevin Gray
A long-time staple of CFFC and the East Coast regional MMA scene, Sean Santella looks to defend his Interim CFFC Flyweight Title for the first time at CFFC 69. Santella has 10 fights inside the CFFC cage and currently holds the belt at V3Fights in Memphis - making him a two promotion Alliance MMA Champion and the top dog of the division. Looking to dethrone the Champion is Kevin Gray - the current Victory Fighting Championships (VFC) Flyweight Champion - another Alliance MMA promotion airing on UFC Fight Pass. Gray is fresh off a unsuccessful bid for a UFC contract on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series and like Santella is living on the cusp of a big league contract begging to break through.
FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
Pat Sabatini (C) vs. Cisco Isata
When opportunity knocks - you rip it's freakin' leg off!!! That's just what Pat Sabatini did when he submitted John De Jesus to win the featherweight title at CFFC 67 in less than one minute. Following the fight, the Daniel Gracie Black Belt let out a roar the entire division heard - and now one man has stepped up to challenge the Cage Fury Champion. Francisco "Cisco" Isata comes from Maryland via Shogun Fights and just like Kevin Gray is an Alliance MMA champion in his respectable organization. Cisco holds an overall record of 12-4, including a submission win over the only person to defeat Sabatini.. making this one helluva matchup for the Sabatini's first title defense.
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
Anton Berzin (C) vs. Dan Spohn
After sharing some time together on The Ultimate Fighter Season 19 these two heavy hitters will finally share the CFFC cage - but not the title of Champion. Anton Berzin is the current champ, having earned his title with vicious body shots against Jamelle Jones in Philadelphia last May. Dan Spohn at one point held the Cage Fury Heavyweight Title after a KO Win over now UFC Fighter Zu Anyanwu. Since then he has won a bout on the Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series as well as the Iron Tiger Fight Series Heavyweight Title - making him yet another Alliance MMA champion to crossover to this event and look to stamp his ticket to the big-show.
