“Thug” Rose Namajunas vs. Gillian "The Savage" Robertson Will Headline FURY 6

With a historic card of electrifying match-ups set to occur next Friday, December 30, CFFC is excited to announce that “Thug” Rose Namajunas (11-5) will be the main event for FURY 6. The UFC strawweight will face off against UFC flyweight Gillian “The Savage” Robertson (11-7). This main-event will highlight one of FURY Professional Grappling’s top cards to date, with even more bouts set to be announced.

Namajunas will make her FURY debut at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia next Friday night. However, many may remember that Namajunas was set to compete on the FURY mat about a year ago at FURY 3. The #2 UFC strawweight was set to face jiu-jitsu black-belt Danielle Kelly. However, due to COVID-protocols, Namajunas was unable to compete and was ultimately replaced with fellow strawweight, Carla “The Cookie Monster” Esparza. Now in 2022, Namajunas is looking to get on the mat and show off her grappling skills.

“Competing in grappling was one of a few different goals I had for myself before I were to compete in fighting again,” Namajunas said.

Coming off a split decision loss against Carla “The Cookie Monster” Esparza (19-7) earlier this year in May, Namajunas is looking to end 2022 with a win. Despite her recognizable knockout power, Namajunas is also known for impressive submissions and dominance on the ground. Facing a well-verse grappling opponent like Robertson, Namajunas will definitely have her hands full when it comes time to face off on the mat.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity to compete for FURY grappling,” Namajunas stated. “I’m very excited.”

For Robertson, her journey to FURY 6 is a little different. Robertson is no stranger to the 2300 Arena and making her mark on the grappling scene, especially at FURY Professional Grappling. Robertson previously faced jiu-jitsu purple-belt, Chrissy Briggs, at FURY 3, where “The Savage” defeated Briggs via decision. Robertson, a jiu-jitsu black-belt grappling out Port St. Lucie in Florida under the coaching of Din Thomas, is looking to secure a win against the top UFC contender of Namajunas.

“It’s great to be back with FURY for another extremely high profile card,” Robertson said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to share the mat with such a notable opponent like Rose Namajunas.”

Outside of grappling, Robertson is coming off an impressive win at UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen v. Song this past September. During the fight, Robertson showed off her submission skills by defeating opponent, Mariya “Demonslayer” Agapova (10-4), with a second-round rear naked choke. Robertson has shown off her submission power before in her previous fights, and has an extensive grappling background. The flyweight shared her excitement for the upcoming match, and believes it will definitely be one for the books.

“We’re both scrappy and submission savvy so you can expect it to be fight of the night,” Robertson stated.

CFFC CEO, Rob Haydak, shared his excitement regarding the main event. “This matchup is going to be incredible,” Haydak stated. “Rose wanted a challenge for her FURY debut and she’s getting just that by facing Gillian.”

This main event will be incredible from beginning to end, but will you be there to see it? If not, better get your tickets now, or if it’s already sold-out, you can stream Fury 6 exclusively on UFC Fight Pass. There is no doubt that FURY 6 is the perfect way to end a stellar year for both CFFC and FURY Pro Grappling, now we just have to wait to see who ends up on top.

“It’s been an incredible year for CFFC and FURY Pro Grappling,” Haydak said. “To end the year with a card like this is a perfect toast to our loyal fans and subscribers of UFC Fight Pass.”
