CFFC Muay Thai 2 results: Ahmad Ibrahim slices open Matt Munoz to claim belt; Jhalani Battle-Williams outlasts Brima Kamara

Two inaugural titles awarded in an evening full of action-packed fights at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena.

PHILADELPHIA – Cage Fury Fighting Championships closed out an incredible weekend of combat sports action with Saturday's CFFC Muay Thai 2, where a pair of champions were crowned following an incredible evening of action.

In the main event, Elite Kickboxing and Rami Elite's Ahmad Ibrahim (16-6) used a slicing elbow from the clinch to split open the eyebrow of his opponent, Matt Munoz (4-3), in the third round, forcing the ringside doctor to demand referee Dan Miragliotta stop the contest. Munoz, who had been aggressive from the opening bell, was disappointed with the call, but Ibrahim had been technically superior until the moment of the stoppage and walked away as the first 125-pound champion in CFFC Muay Thai history.

With the win, Ibrahim – who attended CFFC's MMA events in his youth – credited his team with the victory, praising the benefits having a group of individuals who are all chasing the same goal.

"Fighting is lonely but can be a lot less lonely with brothers that share the same life as you," Ibrahim said.

In the night's co-main event, Jhalani Battle-Williams (7-0) – also another Rami Elite member – outpointed a game challenger in Brima Kamara (4-9) by unanimous decision (49-46, 50-45, 50-45) to claim the inaugural CFFC Muay Thai 147-pound title. Williams used his quickness and cardio to pressure Kamara to claim victory in what had become a bit of a heated contest between former training partners.

Following the win, Williams said he was pleased with his performance against Kamara, stating that he thought he won every round and dominated the entire fight.

"I'm happy with my performance," Battle-Williams said. "I thought I did enough – more than enough – to win,".

Additionally, the rematch between teenage prospects Ahmad Alatmah (2-0) and Landon Jones (4-2) delivered on entertainment value.

After previously scoring a win over his opponent in the amateur ranke, Alatmah was able to make it 2-0 against Jones with a victory by unanimous decision. Alatmah was the more active striker throughout, and an elbow in the second round caused Jones to suffer a cut on his cheek from which he wasn't able to recover.

While Alatmah was proud of his victory, he offered immense respect to Jones and his team for the fight.

"Great fighter, great camp – all respect to him," Alatmah said.
