ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) officials are excited to reveal the headliners for the organization's traditional year-end grappling showcase, as recently announced CFFC Hall of Famer and top UFC welterweight contender Sean Brady takes on John Danaher black belt and four-time UFC Fight Pass Invitational veteran Oliver Taza in a 185-pound matchup.

The contest serves as the main event of CFFC BJJ 16, which takes place on Saturday, December 27 at Philadelphia's historic 2300 Arena.

Additionally, the night's co-main event sees the return of UFC and PFL veteran Alexandr "King Kong" Romanov against promotional newcomer Brian Newman. The full supporting lineup for the evening's spectacular featured matches will be announced shortly.

Tickets for CFFC BJJ 16 are on sale now at CFFC.tv.

"Our year-end submission grappling events are always an incredible way to cap off the calendar on UFC FIGHT PASS, and this year's lineup will be no exception," CFFC CEO Rob Haydak said. "Just one week after he'll officially take his place in the CFFC Hall of Fame, Sean Brady will return to the CFFC BJJ mats for the fourth time, where he'll face yet another grappling legend in Oliver Taza, who has incredibly been one of the world's best since he first entered the sport.

"It's a fantastic main event, and it will serve as the perfect ending for another high-energy, fast-paced night of entertainment inside the 2300 Arena, so come out and join us for all of the action."

Brady, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who is currently ranked No. 7 in the world in the UFC's top-15 contenders list, was a perfect 8-0 in MMA action during his CFFC run, including two successful welterweight title defenses, before making his way to the UFC in 2019. The Philadelphia native has since returned to the promotion's grappling mats on three separate occasions, going a perfect 3-0 in that run, including victories over grappling legends Craig Jones and Richie Martinez, as well as longtime MMA veteran Ben Saunders.

Brady now looks to remain perfect in all competitions under the CFFC banner, but standing in his way is promotional newcomer and longtime grappling standout Taza, who in 2020 was awarded his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt after just six years of training, ascending the ranks in astonishingly quick fashion and proving his worth in competition after competition along the way. Taza has consistently faced a who's who of the sport's top athletes and has a pair of wins under the UFC FIGHT PASS Invitational banner, the predecessor to UFC BJJ, where he hopes to return with a successful result against Brady.

CFFC BJJ 16 main card action streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS following a full preliminary card that streams exclusively at OnlyFans.com/cffcmma.

A complete lineup for CFFC BJJ 16 will be announced shortly. Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, MMA pioneer, noted coach and UFC analyst Din Thomas calls the action alongside CFFC General Manager and longtime MMA journalist and broadcaster John Morgan.
