BRISTOL, Virginia – An interim welterweight champion will be crowned in the main event of Friday's "CFFC 160: Kostyuchenko vs. Veal" event, after both headliners made weight without issues at the event's official weigh-ins.
Thursday's ceremony took place at the athlete host hotel, while Friday's card sees the organization debut at Virginia's Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol. As with all CFFC events, the night's main card streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS following prelims on OnlyFans.com/cffcmma.
Undefeated promotional newcomer Tyler Veal (6-0 MMA, 0-0 CFFC) was the first to the scales, registering right on the money at 170 pounds. Meanwhile, promotional veteran Kostyuchenko (7-1 MMA, 2-1 CFFC) was next, utilizing the one-pound allowance given in CFFC title matches and weighing 170.8 pounds, making the main event official.
The winner walks away with an interim belt and a future booking with current reigning champion Busurman Zhumagul.
