Jared Gordon to Make First Title Defense Against Bill Algeo at CFFC 63

Just one day after announcing Zu Anyanwu vs. Shawn Teed, CFFC is thrilled to announce a second title fight has been added to our February 18th card.

CFFC featherweight champion Jared "Flash" Gordon will make his return to the cage in hopes of defending his title for the first time against Bill Algeo at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

Jared Gordon has been one of Cage Fury's hottest prospects leading all the way back to 2011 when he made his debut for our promotion at CFFC 6. Since then the Renzo Gracie Philly fighter has compiled an impressive record of 7-1 inside the CFFC cage. Gordon won the featherweight title against Anthony Morrison at CFFC 59 by landing a vicious head kick that we all remember vividly. For his next bout, he took a fight at lightweight to stay active fighting at CFFC 60. Gordon defeated Dawond Pickney handily sinking in a rear-naked choke in round two. Now "Flash" is returning to his natural weight class following an injury that kept him out of CFFC 62.

Gordon's opponent Bill Algeo has a comparable record under the CFFC banner going 6-1 over the course of four years losing only to newly signed UFC prospect Shane Burgos. Algeo's Muay Thai is both sharp and deadly. He will likely look to use that skill set to combat Gordon's kickboxing. Algeo also has five submission victories as a pro including a rear-naked choke win against current CFFC lightweight champion Mike Pope. Algeo has talent in every facet and he has proven he can get the W from anywhere just like his adversary.

These two well-rounded fighters meeting in the center of the cage will surely produce a war.

CFFC.tv reached out to Jared Gordon to get his prediction...

"My fight with Bill will be fight of the night. Lots of fireworks with my hand raised at the end of it all. Bill is a game opponent, but I know I bring more to the table."

Bill Algeo also gave us his thoughts leading up to the event...

I'm already the 147.5lb champ of CFFC. I beat the new 155lb champ in under 3 minutes and I will destroy Jared...if he shows up.

Two title fight announcements in two days and it's not even the new year yet! This CFFC 63 card is already set to be one for the history books! Stay tuned for more announcements and fighter interviews here at CFFC.tv.
