Zu Anyanwu vs. Shawn Teed Title Fight Set for CFFC 63
The heavyweight title will once again be on the line at the Borgata in Atlantic City.
Two of CFFC's most fearsome fighters will face-off for the heavyweight belt and only one man can go home with gold around his waist. Cage Fury champion Azunna "3TC" Anyanwu is officially set to fight Shawn Teed at CFFC 63 on February 18th.
Anyanwu has been a CFFC staple for nearly three years fighting exclusively for our promotion and putting on spectacular shows each outing. The heavy-handed veteran has brutal knockout power in every limb and currently rides a 3-fight win streak. Zu went undefeated in the year 2016, and he plans on keeping it that way.
Standing in his way is Ricardo Almedia BJJ's Shawn Teed. This 24 year-old submission specialist holds a perfect record of 6-0 (3 pro, 3 amateur) finishing almost every opponent with his signature "Teed Lock," which is a modified americana from the bottom. This vicious technique has ended the night for multiple CFFC prospects including Chris Daukaus and Jonathan Romero.
When asked about how he will avoid Teed's finishing move, Anyanwu was not the least bit worried.
"F*** the Teed Lock. 3TC is getting the W." -Zu Anyanwu
Strong words from a scary man. An angry Zu is about as dangerous as you can get in the sport of MMA. Despite his opponent's comments, Shawn Teed is keeping things professional.
"I have no ill will towards Zu. He simply has the belt that I want, so he's the guy I have to beat." -Shawn Teed
It's as simple as that for the soft spoken Teed. His confidence is unwavering as he gets ready for the biggest test of his career.
